I had, up until July 2019 been a satisfied customer of 'Enercare'. At the end of April called Enercare about replacing my Hot Water Tank that was 17 yrs old & on May 7th Techs arrived to replace the Tank. After surveying the area I was informed that outlet for the Tank & my Furnace was out of code & had to be Red Tagged OUT OF... I had, up until July 2019 been a satisfied customer of 'Enercare'. At the end of April called Enercare about replacing my Hot Water Tank that was 17 yrs old & on May 7th Techs arrived to replace the Tank. After surveying the area I was informed that outlet for the Tank & my Furnace was out of code & had to be Red Tagged OUT OF SERVICE & they left. I had to make many phone calls to find out what the situation was & being told that code changes had my units unacceptable but if I made changes to the structure around the Chimney all would be fine! Then on June 7th Senior tech supervisor came & stated that I shouldn't have been advised to do the work because all new water tank systems & furnaces have to be vented outside. So to get the water tank installed, I had to have installed a standalone separate electrical circuit at a cost of $500. That being done the new tank was installed without incident on June 12th. The Tag was removed for the tank but the tag on the furnace remained. This left me with a 13 yr old furnace that had to be replaced (not a happy thing to contemplate) Enercare new this & the sales staff promised to come & talk about purchasing a new furnace etc. & never did. June 14th advised Enercare that if they didn't contact me within 24 hrs my association with them would be at an end, unfortunately stuck with a rental contract for the new tank! I won't go into the further talks regarding my cancellation of the Furnace maint agreement, no longer required of course. One is left wondering why, as they had been servicing the equipment for many years they had not informed me of the code violation. Be careful with Enercare when faced with a similar situation. Had a new furnace & water heater installed today by Enercare & am really pleased with the service & installation. The installers were Corey & Dave & they did an amazing job. They were very conscientious & very knowledgeable about the installation. Explained all new information about the equipment & thermostat and were me... During the recent heat wave i realized that my CA was not working. From Robert the service person whom figured out what the issues were to my sales rep Kevin to the 2 great guys Leo & Anthony who installed it the experience was great. I compared contracts and feel that I definitely made the right choice. Everyone was on time, polite, respectful... During the recent heat wave i realized that my CA was not working.
